Medals galore
Over the weekend of 9/10 May Club athletes amassed an impressive 19 medals in an encouraging cross-section of events on track and field at the main County Championships in Kingston (part 2 of the now customary Surrey game of three-halves).
if ever there was an advert for Chairman Dave Clarke's belief in the circular nature of road/cross country helping track, and vice versa in terms of speed and endurance, it is in the form of fifteen year-old Theo Creed, who came off a fantastic cross country season in which he became both National and Inter-County Champion (to cite just two of his individual and team achievements) to take gold in Kingston in the 1500m, with Dylan Gilbert joining him in the rostrum to receive the bronze medal. As coach Anne Hegvold noted, the Club had '12 boys in the 1500m heats, six in the final and two won medals!'
